Summary: a very light read with okay characters and okay writing. it was easy enough to read when only having a few minutes here and there to read with minimal sleep.

Rating: 4
Summary: This was a tactile read more than for the content. As a main character I have always found anne to be a bit frustrating and fluffy. I found this book on my shelf at home and it was old and clearly well loved. My mom tells me it probably belonged to my grandmother and may indeed be a first edition. The pages are of paper that has seen many places and are falling out. The cover is soft with the handling of many hands. The smell is that old book smell that reminds you of library shelves in the back room. Pick up one book this summer for the feel or the smell, not for the content.

Title: The Promise

Rating: 4
Summary: A follow up to "The Chosen". An excellent book that delves into the relationship between father and son as well as what it means to believe in an idea that can be dangerous.

Title: I, Robot

Rating: 3
Summary: A different take on the development of robots. Not as good at delving into the ethics of robots as Asimov but still an interesting read. It does have some technical competency so that was of interest, but for those who don’t know science it doesn’t get in the way of the story. The ending was a bit disappointing, but perhaps is being set up for a sequel.
